The biggest deception and the only one that humanity have to overcome is to believe what ego (flesh) is whispering - "You will suffer if you reject pleasure and satisfaction I promise and accept pain (including mental) and discomfort (which it uses to scare you)." This is the core of "the matrix". Nobody wants to follow my teachings, nobody knows what's behind of the state "I am feel and think". Even spiritual seekers are not going to arrive to the destination they think they wish to come. I myself discovered it (the other side) accidentally. Ego, if it senses its end it will resist that it will never loose control over you through false self-identification. Don't think ego is evil. Ego (flesh) is artificial automated life we have until we face and recognize an alternative.
